The Cotswolds are quintessentially English in so many ways. Beautiful rolling hills, rural stone-built villages and ancient churches. Not to mention parties in fields with bouncy castles and space hoppers until the sun comes up.
Ollie and Bridie’s wedding reception took place in a field that backed onto the property owned by Bridie’s parents. This was a blank canvas with which to work. Great…. but a ton of hard work to turn into the wedding venue of their dreams. I got the impression that hard work was something that both of them were not afraid of, and perhaps even relished.
I met the couple first time around at the family property, and we looked over the empty field that would host their wedding reception. As I heard about their plans I thought that it all sounded very nice. The reality of what they created however, far outshone anything I had imagined.
I arrived in the morning to capture the bridal preparations and decided to head over to the marquee as it was set up nice and early. The perfect opportunity to get some establishing shots and details. When I saw the tables all laid out, and the bars and entertainment around the edge of the marquee, I was super impressed and was looking forward to the days filming.
Ollie and Bridie managed to put together a wedding that was perfect for what they wanted for their big day. Hard work went in to making it a reality, and they will have some amazing memories to cherish for the rest of their life as a result. I believe it is so vital when people plan their wedding day to create a day true to themselves, surrounded by the people they most care about.
